Initiatives
IGNITE-Docs is a joint initiative of Cork International Film Festival & Docs Ireland, Belfast, supported by TG4, the Arts Council of Ireland, Fís Éireann/Screen Ireland and Northern Ireland Screen.
IGNITE-Docs is a bilingual talent development programme directed towards emerging Irish documentary filmmakers embarking on their first or second non-fiction feature film.
Created in collaboration between Cork International Film Festival and Docs Ireland, this cross-border partnership seeks to foster a new generation of Irish documentary filmmakers from the north and south of Ireland.

Our mission with the Docs Ireland industry programme is to develop, nurture and showcase the documentary filmmaking talent of the island of Ireland, from emerging to established filmmakers… [and] to foster and support the non-fiction community on both sides of the Irish border

Docs Ireland is an annual industry-focused, all-Ireland International Documentary Festival, which incorporates a marketplace, pitching sessions, masterclasses, new talent focus and funding information events.
Docs Ireland celebrates documentary filmmaking and provides a platform for both national and international industries. A hub for cross-border collaboration, international co-productions and sales and distribution, Docs Ireland hosts industry events including talks, pitching sessions, and masterclasses, as well as our internationally recognised festival Marketplace, which invites influential decision makers from the non-fiction industry to meet one-to-one with filmmakers.

The Documentary Film Council is a new sector-wide organisation for the UK's independent documentary film industry. Designed in collaboration with filmmakers and organisations across the documentary sector, the DFC is a charitable co-operative run by and for its members on behalf of the documentary community.
Our Mission is to:
Build a democratic organisation with the remit and resources to represent the UK’s independent documentary film sector within the wider screen industries at home and abroad.
Facilitate transparent communication within the documentary community, both between different sub-sectors in the industry and across the nations and regions of the UK.
Enable effective, coordinated action to address the key issues facing the independent documentary industry.
An important part of the DFC’s remit is to work with colleagues across the sector to develop a set of collectively-held policy priorities for UK independent documentary. These will build on the work done so far (see below) and will provide the foundation for the coordinated, targeted interventions we will fund via our member-led committees, the engines of change within our co-op.
